Using Instagram Stories within Marky

With the release of our Instagram Stories feature, here’s everything you need to know to get started. While some advanced features aren’t available yet, we’re excited to help you take advantage of Stories to boost your Instagram presence.

Key details

Automatic Formatting:
For now, all images and videos will be posted as is, the default being square ratio. We’re working on automatic formatting options for different aspect ratios, so stay tuned!

Duration:
Photos will display for the default length, which for instagram is about 5 seconds.

Video Length Rules
Minimum Length: 3 Seconds
• Instagram Stories require videos to be at least 3 seconds long.
• If your video is shorter than 3 seconds, we’ll automatically loop it until it reaches the required duration.

Maximum Length: 60 Seconds
• Instagram Stories have a maximum video length of 60 seconds per Story.
• If your video is longer than 60 seconds, we’ll automatically trim it to include only the first 60 seconds. The rest of the video will not be included.

Stories Are Temporary:
• Stories remain visible for 24 hours before they disappear. You'll see that the link to it disappears in Marky after that time.

Additional Features Not Yet Supported:
Currently, our tool cannot include the following in your Stories:
Location tags
Polls or interactive elements
Music or audio tracks

You can manually add these features after the Story is published using Instagram’s editing tools. Here’s how:
• Open the published Story on Instagram.
• Tap the “Add” icon or swipe up for stickers, music, or other elements.
• Customize and save!

When to Use Stories vs. Posts

Both Stories and grid posts play an important role in your Instagram strategy. Here’s a quick guide:

Use Instagram Stories When:

• You want to share time-sensitive updates like flash sales or events.
• Posting behind-the-scenes content for a more personal connection with your audience.
• Encouraging engagement with fun or casual content like Q&A, polls, or quick tips.
• Highlighting your brand’s day-to-day activities to stay top-of-mind.

Use Instagram Grid Posts When:

• You want to create evergreen content that remains visible on your profile.
• Sharing highly polished, professional visuals to showcase products or services.
• Telling a longer story or providing detailed information in the caption.
• Highlighting customer testimonials or success stories that potential clients will revisit.

Tips for Success

Plan Ahead: Use Stories for moments that are time-sensitive or engaging, and grid posts for timeless, visually appealing content.
Save Highlights: Don’t let important Stories disappear! Create Story Highlights on Instagram to keep them available on your profile.
Mix It Up: Use a combination of Stories and grid posts to maintain variety and keep your audience engaged.

We’re excited to bring more features to Instagram Stories soon, including resizing. For now, dive in, experiment with Stories, and make your brand stand out!
